Kirkstall Art Trail & Other Travels.

Posted by Johnny Lord on

This month saw the return of the annual Kirkstall Festival and then the Kirkstall Art Trail. These are two great events held in the Kirkstall area of Leeds. The Festival is the biggest community run festival in England and it has been going for decades. It has a parade, dog show, music stages, comedy, stalls, games, rides and even a tea dance and canoes - all crammed into the abbey grounds - we had a fantastic time!

Kirkstall is also home to an Art Trail which has run for several years and is hugely popular amongst the local and artist community.  The Art Trail is a free event to attend and there were loads of amazing artists exhibiting and selling their work. There was refreshments and free art activities for all ages in the community garden - what's not to love! We had a amazing day out and being surrounded by such talented artists really inspired me and really helped boost my creativity - I came away with loads of ideas.

We were also fortunate enough to travel to Norway and the restful environment , along with the great scenic beauty sent me home refreshed and again massively inspired to pick up my paint brushes again and create - paintings to follow!

I hope you have had time to recharge your batteries and take a little rest and enjoy the sunshine, either at home or out and about this summer.

As always you can catch up with my art on Instagram and it's available to buy, along with a collection of prints, t-shirts mugs and hoodies on the website.

Thanks & enjoy
