Now Feels Like A Good Time To Make Some Plans!

Well, we've got the 1st month of 2025 under way and hopefully you've just about recovered from the excesses of the festive season.... So now feels like a great time to make some plans!   Here's a few things I like to make some gentle plans for during January, whilst it's still cold and dark out.  Creative inspiration - things to make. Wardrobe update - You may want to add a new hoodie or a unique t-shirt, we've got you covered! Catch up with friends & family - just in case we missed anyone during the festivities. Menu Plan -...

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Once again we're looking forward to a bit of Halloween fun and hope you are too! The decorations are up, we've got a bucket-full of Halloween sweets to hand out to visitors. The film we've selected for this year's traditional family Halloween horror film viewing will be 'The Thing'  -  the brilliant 1982 John Carpenter version. Travel On My Mind ...

Having settled back at home after our summer of day trips and travels, I find that I have travel on my mind again. Specifically a trip to Japan. Japan, it’s art, culture, place and people have always fascinated me and I’d love to visit. But, I live on the other side of the world, in Yorkshire, so it’ll need a lot of saving up to get there. Kirkstall Art Trail & Other Travels.

This month saw the return of the annual Kirkstall Festival and then the Kirkstall Art Trail. These are two great events held in the Kirkstall area of Leeds. The Festival is the biggest community run festival in England and it has been going for decades. It has a parade, dog show, music stages, comedy, stalls, games, rides and even a tea dance and canoes - all crammed into the abbey grounds - we had a fantastic time! Kirkstall is also home to an Art Trail which has run for several years and is hugely popular amongst the local and...

What I Think About When I'm Not Thinking About Football or Art...

So the football season is well and truly over and life's other distractions can take over for a few short weeks. A moment to draw breath and look about us before the next season, with all it's excitement arrives! So, I was thinking about things other than football and here are some of highlights, in no particular order!   Posca pens - these are great art pens - they're my favourite art thing - I know I said not thinking about football or art, but that's not really possible. Waterslides & roller coasters - they please my inner-child. Joe Strummer's...
